What is Cleveland Clinic Canada’s Express Care® Online On-Demand?
Cleveland Clinic Canada’s Express Care Online is a virtual healthcare app that lets patients connect live with a clinician to get a diagnosis or medical advice for non-emergency health conditions.
Who can use it?
Express Care Online is available for any Activa purchaser of a new Single Detached, who purchases after August 1, 2024. This service is available for those over the age of two who have the purchasers address as their primary residence.
What kind of conditions can be treated through Express Care Online?
Cleveland Clinic Canada’s nurse practitioners will help to diagnosis, treat, and prescribe medications for non-emergency conditions including:
- Flu
- Allergies
- Sinus
- Cough
- Common Cold
- Conjunctivitis
- Low back pain
- Anxiety/Depression
- Acute diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting
- Acute UTI (Urinary Tract Infection)
- Vaginal yeast infections
- Rashes, skin problems, burns, insect bites
- Gout
What requests can be met on Express Care Online?
Prescriptions (except for narcotic pain medications and benzodiazepines), referrals to specialists, sick notes, and lab work and/or imaging can be fulfilled at the clinical discretion of the provider.
Can I access mental health specialists?
Clinicians on Express Care Online can provide initial mental health support when needed and connect you to their network of social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists to ensure you receive the care you require in a timely manner.
Can I use Express Care Online when I travel?
Your Express Care Online access covers healthcare needs when you travel within Canada.
What are the hours?
Express Care® Online is available 24/7 in Ontario; 7 days a week across Canada. Clinicians are available on-demand from 6am to 12am; overnight phone support is available from 12am to 6am. Please note that the hours of operation will vary depending on province and time zone.
What is Enhanced Care with TytoHome™?
The TytoHome™ medical exam kit – which is provided with your access to this service – is a Health Canada-approved, award-winning remote medical exam kit that enables you to get a medical exam by a clinician from the comfort of your home. With TytoHome, having an Express Care Online visit is just like being in the doctor’s office and getting a high-quality exam with your nurse but with no commute or wait.
What can the TytoHome diagnostic tools check?
The TytoHome exam kit includes tools for examining the heart, lungs, throat, skin, ears, and body temperature. TytoHome can be used for diagnosing common medical conditions such as the cold, flu, ear infections, bronchitis, and sore throats. It can also be used to take high resolution photos of your ear, throat and skin.
How do I know if I need to use TytoHome with my virtual visit?
We recommend that you pair your TytoHome to your account before a virtual visit. This would ensure a seamless consultation should a TytoHome exam be deemed necessary to diagnose your condition.
How do I use TytoHome with Express Care Online?
Follow the step-by-step instructions on the ‘How to Use TytoHome’ instruction sheet. For your initial set-up, we recommend pairing your TytoHome on your home WiFi. You will need to pair your TytoHome device with your WiFi for yourself and each of your eligible dependents.

**Activa is offering Cleveland Clinic Canada as a perk on new construction single detached homes purchased after August 1, 2024. This program is not applicable for “spec” homes already under construction and may be limited to select floorplans. Cleveland Clinic Canada’s virtual services will be issued quarterly and access will be granted approximately six months after firm for a period of two years. The program applies to all individuals living at the address of the buyer, two years of age or older. The Tyto device kit is a subscription paid for Activa annually and must be returned at the end of the term if the program is not renewed.
