Welcome back to our Social Series! June is here, which means it’s nearly time celebrate Father’s Day. Whether you’re looking to spend time outside, share a nice meal, or attend a workshop, we’ve got you covered with a number of fun ways to enjoy the day in the Waterloo Region. Let’s dive into what’s happening in our community this June!

Spend the day outside:

Explore Laurel Creek Conservation Area:  Enjoy some bonding time and take Dad for a day of fishing at Laurel Creek Conservation Area. That’s not all though – Laurel Creek is also a great place to hike, birdwatch, and spend time outside.

 

Golf at Rebel Creek Golf Club: Spend a day on the green with Dad at Rebel Creek Golf Club. The course is a great time for golfers of all skill levels. Just try to avoid getting too competitive! 

 

Father’s Day Hike at Huron Natural Area: Enjoy a family hike! This local favourite has multiple trails, all depending on what kind of difficulty you’re looking for. Pack some snacks and enjoy the great outdoors!

 

Downtown Kitchener ArtWalk: Explore the art scene of Downtown Kitchener. The ArtWalk features local artists’ work displayed throughout the downtown area.

 

Waterloo 10K Classic: Start Father’s Day on an active note by participating in the Waterloo 10K Classic. This community race offers a variety of distances for all levels, from a 3K to a full 10K run. It’s a fantastic way to get moving and celebrate the day with some healthy competition.

Share a meal together:

A special Father’s Day Brunch Buffet at Charcoal Steak House: Treat Dad to brunch at Charcoal Steakhouse. A grand market-style buffet with a wide variety of options – even oysters if you want to start your day with a bang!

 

Father’s Day Brunch at The Cambridge Mill: Treat Dad to an exquisite brunch buffet at The Cambridge Mill. Enjoy a variety of delicious options with a beautiful view of the Grand River.

 

BBQ Feast at Lancaster Smokehouse: Challenge dad to a BBQ eat-off at the Lancaster Smokehouse. Known for its smoked meats and atmosphere, it’s a great spot for a Father’s Day dinner.

Summer Music Series at Willibald Farm Distillery & Brewery: Enjoy live music every Wednesday evening at Willibald Farm Distillery & Brewery. Bring Dad to enjoy the music, the market, and especially the drinks!
