Planning the perfect date night in Waterloo Region

Have you been staring down Valentine’s Day on your calendar, anxious about what you can do with your partner? Don’t sweat it – we’ve got you covered with a number of local date ideas that are sure to impress.

Looking for something a little more low-key? Go bowling at Splitsville in Waterloo! Whether you’re a pro or new to the sport, bowling makes for a great date activity. Afterwards, hop in your car and grab dinner at the Lancaster Smokehouse.

Would you prefer to hit the town? Then we recommend you head to Uptown Waterloo, where you’ll start your night with dinner at Daldongnae Korean BBQ. If you haven’t tried it before, Korean barbeque is a unique dining experience where you cook your meal as it arrives on a miniature grill set into the table. Afterwards you can go for a skate at the Waterloo Public Square, hand-in-hand with your partner. Once you’re ready to be warmed up by a delicious treat, it’s time for dessert at Crumby Cookie Dough Co. around the corner.

Is Waterloo a bit too far for you? Never fear, we also have a great date options in Downtown Kitchener. You’ll start with a movie at Apollo Cinema, but don’t fill up on popcorn, because afterwards you’ll enjoy dinner down the road at the Grand Trunk Saloon. The menu offers a twist on classic southern comforts, in addition to a wide array of upscale cocktails. You’ll close the night at AOK Craft Beer and Arcade, where you can enjoy a few drinks while playing on their awesome retro video game cabinets. If that’s a bit too much energy at this point in the night, you could also walk down the street to the Adventurers Guild Board Game Cafe. Can’t go wrong with winding down the night playing a board game and sipping on a warm drink!
