Job Title: Financial Analyst

Reports To: Director, Finance
Location: Waterloo, Ontario
Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Financial Analyst is a key member of the Financial Services team. The Financial Analyst will primarily be responsible for assisting the Director, Finance, with various activities that focus on project modelling, performance analysis, project funding, cash flow forecasting and budgeting. They will provide high level analytics related to the company’s operations and will work in close collaboration with the Accounting and Operations departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with budget managers in the preparation of financial models that forecast the performance of construction projects
- Assist with the budget control process, including the gathering, maintaining, analyzing, and reporting of project budgets
- Assist the Director in analyzing the actual performance of projects against expectations, including the review of quantitative and qualitative metrics
- Prepare short term and long-term cash flow forecasts and complete comparisons to actual results
- Assist the Director with preparing the monthly construction loan draws
- Provide assistance with debt management and treasury related activities
- Prepare applications and information to regulatory bodies for project licensing and approvals
- Develop process improvements and reports to improve data and modelling accuracy
- Collaborate with other members of the Financial Services team on relevant issues
- Other duties as assigned within the spirit and the scope of the role
Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma or degree with a focus on business, finance, accounting, or economics
- 3+ years of related financial experience
- Professional designation (CFA, CPA), or progression towards one, considered an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications and tools (Excel pivot tables, sumifs and macros)
- Proven analytical skills in a project or deadline driven environment
- A track record of identifying and solving problems
- Experience working independently and in collaboration with others
