Job Title: Design Studio Merchandising Coordinator

Reports To: Design Studio Manager
Location: Waterloo, Ontario
Reporting to the Design Studio Manager, this role is responsible for maintaining and organizing product samples on display in the Design Studio showroom, as well as ensuring that all options and products are accurately updated within our systems. This is a hands-on position that requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow and consistently demonstrate Activa’s RITE company values.
- Ensure displays are well organized, current, in good condition and contain samples vetted through the approval process. This includes ensuring labelling and signage are accurate and maintained.
- Responsible for ensuring all information related to design studio offerings is accurately maintained in Homebuilder 1, including attributes, inventory and descriptions.
- Work closely with vendors/suppliers to obtain and install samples while minimizing disruption in the Studio.
- Maintain sales collateral, product reference and similar marketing material – traditional hard copy and digital or multi-media.
- Provide data and analytical insight and recommendations into product offering and what is selling or not.
- Provide updates on product information required to support a positive Customer Experience.
- Provide assistance in product knowledge training of the Design Studio team on new products as they are introduced.
- Provide assistance in the maintenance of the storage room used to house model home merchandise.
- Keep informed of all communities, model homes, and available options specific to communities and the company.
- Participate in Design Projects or other duties as assigned.
- Support Tour and Browsing hours for our customers as part of a team that rotates, working a few evening and weekend shifts each month.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in home product merchandising or similar role
- Thorough knowledge of standard home features and upgrade options
- Knowledge of new construction including the ability to review floorplans.
- General understanding of the home purchase and sales process
- Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
- Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- A diploma or Degree in Interior Design or another similar program is an asset
- Ability to lift and move various samples (up to 30 lbs)
