Location: Kitchener, Ontario

Reporting to the Design Studio Manager, the Design Studio Consultant is responsible to complete all work related to Customer selections (post sale). This individual requires good people skills, the ability to present their ideas effectively and to be able to evaluate

the ideas of others. Show in-depth knowledge of construction projects and be efficient at data entry. It is understood by the Design Studio Consultant that this is a key activity in the provision of an exceptional Customer Experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow and consistently demonstrate Activa’s RITE company values.
  • Work with Customers to establish rapport, creating a positive work relationship and environment.
  • Facilitate for our Customers, the selection of upgrades and finishes
  • Prepare work/change orders, amendments & selections documents using applicable software system to capture all required information.
  • Provide accuracy, clarity and completeness of all selection files and amendments within agreed timelines.
  • Manage timely information flow including Requests for Pricing and related documents to the Customer.
  • Provide insight and feedback to the Design Studio Manager on opportunities to improve the Customer Experience.
  • Work with the Design Studio team to collaborate projects
  • Prepare sample and inspirational boards for the purpose of colour selections
  • Provide recommendations on improvements to the Home Product Library for inclusion or deletion of products. Similarly, suggest improvements to descriptions that aid in clarity.
  • Provide input on possible new products for display in the Design Studio
  • Strive on continual learning, keep up to date on product knowledge, current trends by attending trade shows, seminars, blogs and using popular home builder magazines for reference.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to the Sales and Design Studio Team as needed.
  • Provide customers with Tours and Pricing
  • Model and Spec Home selections
  • Data entry and other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Minimum 3 years in a Sales and Interior Design related field
  • Either previous work experience or education in Interior Design field is required for this position.
  • Thorough knowledge of standard home features and upgrade options.
  • Able to read and understand site plans and construction drawings.
  • Intermediate understanding of new construction.
  • Thorough understanding of home purchase and sales process
  • Thorough understanding of sales techniques and philosophies.
  • Colour Theory, materials and Interior Design knowledge.
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
